Goes the sacrificial lamb
Away
Gradually
But
Wishing won’t make it last
The Secrets Stands to enter the bloodstream
Turning veins from blue to black
As an invasive substance, poison
Introduced as licorice sweet
Triggering beastly mutations
Provoking the heart to turn inside out
Rue the sweet and succulent sap
Enough to rotten teeth, jagged
Guilt bites
Sizable portions of flesh
Gulping libation without further notion
To exact anguish
Swallowing til creamy sweet liquor
Then render bitter
Introducing instinct
Cautioning to unlatch
Lips laden with vitality
Without consciousness of consequence
